Each Oraije garment is the fruit of collective effort, blending creation, textile expertise, and a demand for quality. Behind every pair of jeans are thoughtful choices, trusted partners, and a consistently designed production chain.
We have chosen to bring our expertise as close together as possible to minimize travel between each manufacturing step. Thus, once the fabric is put into production, an Oraije pair of jeans only travels 47 kilometers before leaving the workshop.
An approach guided by the pursuit of excellence and consistency, which allows us to transparently share with you the journey of our pieces, from their design in Paris to their arrival in your wardrobe.
STEP 1: The creation in Paris
It all begins in Paris, in the office of Jessica, our collection director. This is where every piece is imagined. Inspired by the modern woman and her daily needs, Jessica designs cuts meant to combine comfort, aesthetics, and self-confidence.
Special attention is paid to the details: the drape, the structure of the garment, and also the choice of threads that will make up the fabrics. From the number of weaves per centimeter to the direction of the grain, every decision is made with precision.
STEP 2: Weaving the Denim
Once the design is finalized, the cotton yarns are woven in one of our partner workshops specializing in denim. This step brings our fabrics to life, selected for their durability and quality.
The fabrics used meet strict criteria and carry the Standard 100 certification, guaranteeing the absence of substances harmful to health.
STEP 3: Production
The denim fabrics are then precisely cut according to the shapes defined during the design phase. The different pieces are assembled with renowned textile expertise, giving birth to jeans faithful to the lines and volumes conceived in Paris.
Oraije's family know-how convinced us that manufacturing our garments in China is not necessarily pejorative. We have centralized production as much as possible to avoid scattered production steps across multiple countries.
We prefer transparency: yes, we manufacture in China. Our family experience has allowed us to find expertise there that meets our quality and durability requirements.
STEP 4: Washing, an essential step
Washing gives every pair of jeans its shade and character. Mindful of limiting our environmental impact, we favor washing with clear water whenever possible and, for certain models, use stone and salt washing to achieve specific shades without the use of chemicals.
Our factory operates on a closed-loop water system: only 40% new water is used each day, with the rest being recycled.
We are also developing ozone washing, one of the most environmentally friendly methods.
STEP 5: Finishing touches and quality control
Back in the manufacturing workshop, the final touches, such as adding buttons and fasteners, are made. Once the product is finished, it undergoes a technical inspection to ensure its quality and durability. All sizes of our jeans are checked to ensure compliance with the sizing chart and thus provide you with flattering cuts.
