Every Oraije garment is the result of a collective effort, blending creativity, textile expertise, and a commitment to quality. Behind every pair of jeans, there are deliberate choices, trusted partners, and a carefully designed production chain.
We made the choice to centralize our suppliers as much as possible , in order to limit unnecessary travel between each stage of production. As a result, once the fabric goes into production, a pair of Oraije jeans travels only 47 kilometers from its making until it is packaged, ready to be shipped to France.
Through this controlled organization, we wish to share with you the journey of our pieces, from their design in Paris to their arrival in your wardrobe, in complete transparency, highlighting the know-how and choices that shape our collections.

Step 1: The creation, in Paris
It all begins in Paris, in the office of Jessica, our collection director. This is where each piece is conceived. Inspired by the modern woman and her everyday needs, Jessica designs cuts that combine comfort, style, and self-confidence.
Particular attention is paid to detail: the drape, the structure of the garment, but also the choice of yarns that will make up the fabrics. From the number of weaves per centimeter to the direction of the yarn, every decision is made with exacting standards.

Step 2: Weaving the denim
Once the design is finalized, the cotton threads are woven in one of our partner workshops specializing in denim. This step gives rise to our fabrics, selected for their strength and quality.
The fabrics used meet strict criteria and benefit from Standard 100 certification, guaranteeing the absence of substances harmful to health.
Step 3: The making
The denim fabrics are then precisely cut according to the shapes defined during the design phase. The various pieces are assembled with renowned textile expertise, resulting in raw denim that remains true to the lines and volumes conceived in Paris.

Step 4: Washing, an essential step
The washing process gives each pair of jeans its unique shade and character. Without this step, all our jeans would be the same color. Depending on the desired effect, different methods can be used.
Aware of the environmental impact of this phase, we are constantly working to improve our practices. Whenever possible, we prioritize washing with clean water. For certain pieces, a salt and stone wash is used to achieve specific shades without resorting to chemicals.
This approach allows, in particular, for the reuse of water over several cycles. In parallel, we are currently testing ozone washing, one of the most environmentally friendly methods.
Our washing plant uses a closed water circuit which allows it to inject only 40% new water per day, the rest is recycled water.

Step 5: Finishing touches and quality control
The final touches are then added: buttons, zippers, and details complete each piece. Every pair of jeans undergoes rigorous quality control to guarantee its durability, strength, and adherence to our sizing chart.
All sizes are carefully checked to offer you fair, flattering and comfortable fits, true to the Oraije DNA.
Once each pair of jeans has been inspected and carefully packaged, it's shipped to the port, the final stop before its journey to France. From there, it reaches our customers, ready to be worn and become part of their everyday lives. This meticulously planned process has a single objective: to offer you high-quality, durable pieces that meet Oraije's exacting standards, ensuring your complete satisfaction, day after day.

On average, a pair of jeans travels 65,000 km before reaching a store. At Oraije, we limit this distance to 20,460 km thanks to our unique production process in China, in workshops that are monitored to ensure the quality of our products as well as the working conditions of our employees. We work every day to improve.
With 2 new collections per year and timeless, high-quality pieces, we want to encourage more responsible consumption among our customers.
