The origins of skinny jeans date back to the 1950s, when icons like James Dean and Elvis Presley wore tight jeans to reveal a rebellious and sexy silhouette. At that time, skinny jeans were essentially masculine in a rock 'n' roll spirit. They continued to exist in the 1970s and 1980s but remained associated with punk and rock circles and struggled to win the hearts of the general public.

It was in the 2000s that it made a strong comeback and took over the public space: everyone swears by it. It is worn by women and men, often made of denim with elastane for greater comfort.

It then becomes an essential fashion piece, worn in a casual chic style with ballerinas and a blouse or in a more rock style where chains are added to the belt.
