Our journey towards social and environmental responsibility
In a world where environmental and social issues are becoming increasingly important, companies are no longer simply evaluated on their economic performance, but also on their ability to act responsibly and sustainably. At Oraije, we understand the crucial importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and we are proud to share our commitment to a more responsible future.
We firmly believe that long-term success is based on a balance between economic growth, social well-being, and environmental preservation. To get a starting point for our commitment, we carried out our carbon footprint, thanks to which we were able to have a first estimate of the impact of one of our jeans: on average, an Oraije jean has 48% less impact than the average jean placed on the market.
Proud of this observation, we are extending our commitment through 3 aspects:

Environmental Responsibility
Preserving our planet is at the heart of our CSR strategy. At Oraije, we implement practices aimed at reducing our ecological footprint.
A range of undyed jeans
This range has been available for a year at Oraije, it is simply undyed canvas, the item therefore has its pretty light vanilla beige color naturally. Thanks to the absence of dyeing, the items in this range have an impact 78% lower than the average jeans on the market. In addition, this range has a specific feature: the more you wash the item, the more beautiful and soft it will become.

Loss ratio below average
The advantage of working closely with our Tier 1 factories is that we can adjust production according to our needs right from the weaving stage. Thanks to this, we ask our weaving factory to manufacture fabric strips according to our models, so we control the loss at the time of cutting with a loss ratio of 12% compared to 22% on average.

Closed water circuit
The washing stage is one of the most polluting stages of the process, and it also requires a lot of water. To reduce the impact of this stage, our washing plant only works in a closed circuit with a wastewater treatment plant.

Development of a lyocell range
Lyocell is a new textile material made from wood fiber. Its composition is simple: wood fibers (at Oraije we have chosen to make it from bamboo, a very common wood in the region of China in which we produce) and non-toxic solvent, amine oxide.
Bamboo lyocell has many environmental and social benefits:
On an environmental level, its raw material requires no pesticides, no fertilizers and much less water than cotton during its cultivation. In addition, it is a completely biodegradable and easily recyclable fabric thanks to its monofiber manufacturing.
From a social point of view, thanks to the absence of toxic products during its manufacture, workers do not endanger their health.

Social Commitment
Our employees are the heart of Oraije. We are committed to creating a safe, inclusive and fulfilling work environment. Continuous training, promoting diversity and equity, and workplace well-being are top priorities.
Beyond our walls, whenever we can we support causes that are close to our hearts, as we have done with our charity sale aimed at supporting women who have suffered from breast cancer. In the future we would like to get even more involved in this cause that is particularly close to our hearts: women.

Business Ethics
Transparency and integrity guide each of our business actions. At Oraije, we ensure that our business practices are not only legal, but also ethically sound. This includes maintaining high standards in the fight against corruption, respect for human rights, and fair relations with our suppliers and partners. This business ethics is achieved through close and privileged relationships with each of our partners without whom we would be nothing.
We are aware that we are only at the beginning of our CSR policy and that we are far from perfect, which is why we are constantly trying to improve for the years to come.
